When I tried to log in for the first time. Somehow you have to use this ARC program to access it. I wanted to download the free star trek game from Steam. Star Trek online gave me such a bad taste I'm pretty sure rest of their games are the same. If you are an alliance player then maybe after grinding months in the fleet you may be able to complete the campaign. Uninstalled this after only 50 hours of gameplay. And if you stay you will have to contest for whatever miniscule loot and exp they give with the other guy. You can't kick the other guy from the team. You start the patrol solo, the other guy joins. Oh and if you don't happen to be in a fleet, you have a nice 80% chance to be paired up with a random player on patrol missions you want to run solo. There is also the fun fact that enemies are unbalanced and you can literally get godlike enemies one time and doing same mission over you can get pushovers the next time.Īnd to add to that fact, most of the game content needed to go beyond voth campaign is locked behind lootboxes, events or fleets, making it effectively unplayable for solo players. Now, let's add the fact that there is ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFFERENCE in loot drops when you play in elite or normal difficulty. The fact that half the game is not only locked behind a paywall, (You won't get past voth without paying, or grinding for a full year), the fact that half the missions bug out to the point where you have to start it all over is just plain stupid. That one game was enough for me to give this company 1 star review. Ease of playability has become choppy and not so fluid. They seem to make use of the least favorite star trek characters, which are basically eyesores. Most Discovery missions are less fun, hard and take too long to get through. They never fixed the glitch of the first Discovery mission. Overly use of terran empire threat and the true way. Some of the repeated missions they made harder. The fault is terrible misuse in blending colors to where you can't make out which way to go. Those Que missions that were once fun to do have become outrageous in wrongly penalizing players for supposedly AFK when those ground missions are hard to find your way around. DS9 used to be nicely lit up and now looks as if a power outage has dimmed the entire station. It must of happen after the Dominion was brought into the game that it took on a much darker and less appealing approach to graphics presentation. I believe there are still star trek fans out there who still don't even know this game exists. Including faster loading time, along with graphics that has less stress on RAM requirement. Star Trek Online offers more to it's free-to-play than Star Wars The Old Republic. They will even restore deleted characters, depending on when it was done. Star Trek Online's customer service is good. Only problem to this game are minor glitches that prevent you from progressing any further into completing missions. ![]() About when Perfect World Co., Ltd took over the game is when free-to-play came to be available. They didn't even give you the feel of being a part of the star trek realm. ![]() Most previous star trek games were limited in what you can and can't do. I remember really looking forward to playing it, as there was nothing like it before. ![]() Later came the Romulans and even more would follow. At first there was only the Federation and Klingon that you could play as. In it you get to be a captain of your own starship. Cryptic Studios developed Star Trek Online on July 28,2008.
